GOLDEN THREAD

I raise my head above the sky
And spread my wings that I may fly
And through the clouds my lofty view
I see a thread of golden hue
That stretches out beyond my death
Yet reaches back past my first breath

I knew my life to be this line
Though more time ran than what was mine
Or so I thought before I flew
There more to me than what I knew
And instantly my mind was free
I saw no one in charge but me

With every breath my life does change
The golden thread will  rearrange
Through cycle after cycled birth
And deaths of and beyond the earth
And on into infinity
My consciousness an endless sea

In peace I rest from where I spring
The eternalness of my own being
